How to Control Your Temper

There are times that we are out of control of our emotions. That lead us to lose the people important to us, our job and even possessions in life. But I will share some tips about controlling one's out-of-control temper.

1. Step back. This should be the hardest part to learn. It is pretty hard to step back when your temperature already rise or when you are irritated. Yes, as an agent it is too hard for me to step back when i'm already very angry to some of my racist customer. Sometimes, I will reach to the point that my body is already shaking because of anger.

2. Speak out. Talk about it. Yes, this is one of the best way to overcome your anger, your temper. Don't be afraid because talking isn't about confrontation. Talk to someone you can share your secrets to or whom you think can understand and will ready to listen to your whipping. It may be a repertoire for that person but believe me, he or she will still listen.

3. Breathe. If you are really angry, you should take a deep breath. The inhale and exhale exercise will help you feel better. By doing this, it will release all the hard feelings you have. Breathe deep. Inhale. Exhale.

4. Mind Set. It is nothing personal. Tell that to yourself every time you are angry. Just don't think things personally. Stop beating the bush. Drop it.

5. Stop antagonizing people. It is not someone's fault. You should take an honest look to your own behavior. Quit picking on others or insulting them without the expectation that they will retaliate.
